How UGC-Led Creative Testing Drove 60–70% of Total Revenue at 4x–6x+ ROAS

How Strategic Creative Testing Drove 60–70% of Total Revenue

Overview

For a hair care brand, our primary focus was not just running ads — but building a  creative-driven growth engine.

Instead of relying on a few ads, we implemented a structured creative testing framework to identify, scale, and maximize high-performing creatives.

The Challenge

The brand needed consistent, scalable performance from Meta Ads.

However, without a structured testing approach:

  • Winning creatives were not identified efficiently
  • Budget was not being utilized on top performers
  • Scaling was inconsistent

The Strategy

We implemented a  creative-first approach, where every decision was driven by performance data.

Testing Framework

  • Multiple creatives tested simultaneously using ABO structure
  • Each creative given a  minimum 7-day testing window
  • Performance evaluated on:
    • CTR (Click-Through Rate)
    • CPC (Cost per Click)
    • Hook & hold rate

Kill Criteria

  • Creatives were paused if:

    • CTR dropped below benchmark
    • CPC increased beyond acceptable range
    • Poor engagement (low hook/hold rate)

Creative Mix

  • We tested multiple formats:

    • User Generated Content (UGC)
    • Static ads
    • Product-focused creatives
    • Influencer-style visuals
Key Insight:

UGC creatives generated 60–70% of total revenue, making them the primary growth driver.

However, static creatives also contributed significantly as supporting assets.

Execution

  • Focused heavily on UGC production and testing
  • Winning creatives pushed to broad audiences for scale
  • Budget increased gradually based on last 7 days performance
  • Scaling done in controlled increments (20–25% budget increase)

Results

Top-performing creatives delivered strong performance:

  • Multiple ads generating 4x – 6x+ ROAS
  • High purchase volume across creatives
  • Consistent scalability using winning ads

Key Insights

  • Creative testing is the backbone of scalable performance
  • UGC content significantly outperforms traditional ad formats
  • Structured testing (7-day window) improves decision-making
  • Data-based kill criteria prevents budget wastage
  • Broad audience scaling works best with proven creatives

Conclusion

By shifting the focus from random ad execution to a  structured creative testing system, we were able to unlock consistent and scalable growth.

This case study highlights that in modern advertising,
👉 winning creatives — not just targeting — drive the majority of results.
